We start with diverse teams of experts from many disciplines
In our experience, teams have greater impact when their ideas integrate human, business and technical factors. The d.school connects Stanford's activities in these fields and brings together diverse teams of experts that would otherwise never collaborate.
Students from every school on campus—engineering, business, medicine, law, humanities and sciences, education and earth sciences—take classes at the d.school. Our student teams often include four students from four radically different backgrounds. Our classes and workshops are always taught by a team of faculty and industry leaders, mixing disciplines like computer science with philosophy, and CEOs with biologists and elementary school policy-makers. We believe these sometimes opposing points of view allow students to learn to formulate their own way forward.
